Obesity Update 2014
In response to the growing obesity epidemic, Association of Physicians Specialising in Obesity-United Kingdom (APSO-UK) and the Society are teaming together to present a one-day course that will cover a range of topics relevant to the clinical treatment of obesity. Essential components to the comprehensive treatment of patients affected by obesity will be addressed, including:
- Challenges in effectively treating complex obesity
- Emerging pharmacotherapies
- Obesity and physical activity
- Complications and challenges of bariatric surgery
- The role of the bariatric physician (U.S. and U.K. perspectives)
- Hot topics in bariatric surgery

Course attendees may submit obesity-related case reports for review by the Society and APSO-UK accreditation specialists. A prize of £250, £150, or £100 will be rewarded for first, second and third best abstracts, respectively. For more information, read the abstract submission guidelines.
The deadline for submitting an abstract has been extended until Nov. 30, 2013.
Those who have already submitted an abstract will now be notified of their acceptance by Dec. 9, 2013.
